LFFA AGM / EGM Update

Unfortunately, there were no new nominations to join the Linlithgow Folk Festival Association or the management committee. None of the existing committee members sought re-election. It was decided unanimously by those present (all but one of whom was a current or past committee member) that the LFFA be placed in a period of suspension. There are therefore no sessions or concerts in the offing and the September Festival will not go ahead.

Should enough volunteers come forward to take on the reins of the LFFA, this approach will ensure it is easier to re-commence the activities of the Linlithgow Folk Festival Association.

Notice of Important Meetings

The Annual General Meeting of the Linlithgow Folk Festival Association will be held on 18th January 2024 at 7:30 pm in the St John’s Church Meeting Room, 183 High Street, Linlithgow, EH49 7EN.  Parking can be found on-street and behind the Health Centre on the other side of the High Street.

A key element of the AGM is the election of a committee.   The LFFA constitution requires that 5 LFFA members be elected.

Currently none of the existing Committee, including the Chair, Festival Director and Treasurer, will be seeking re-election.

To seek election to the committee, you must first be a member of the Association.  Should you wish to become a member of the Association, please contact our secretary (This email address is being protected from spambots. If there are insufficient nominations, the AGM will be proceeded by an Extraordinary General  Meeting.  In accordance with the constitution the EGM will consider a resolution for the dissolution of the LFFA.  Any vote for dissolution will require at least two thirds of those attending the meeting to vote in favour of the resolution.
